Photographer Suzanne Rose will be the featured guest artist at The Gallery of the Door County Art League (DCAL) in July. A nationally recognized artist and educator who practices and teaches fine art photography as a “mindful minimalist,” Rose remains close to her Midwestern roots by photographing thematic bodies of works of family and community that explore memory, purpose and place. A reception for Rose is set for July 2, 3 – 5 pm, at the gallery in Fish Creek.

Since being gifted a camera at the age of four from her grandmother, Rose has been on a journey of discovery, liberation and comprehension.

Rose is a National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts fellow and a five-time recipient of the Wisconsin Arts Board fellowship for individual artists. Rose’s work is currently on display at the Museum of Wisconsin Art, West Bend, Miller Art Museum, Sturgeon Bay and, in September, at The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art in the prestigious Wisconsin Triennial 2016. Rose’s workshop schedule and portfolio may be viewed at

The DCAL Gallery, open daily 11 am – 5 pm, is located at the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek. For more information, email [email protected], visit, or find the Door County Art League and Gallery on Facebook.
