Suzi Hass Exhibits Photography

Photography by Suzi Hass.

An exhibit by Sister Bay resident Suzi Hass is on display at the UU Gallery in March and April. The show features Door County landscapes as well as portrait collages. The public is invited to attend an opening reception on March 1, 4 – 6 pm.

Hass has lived in Northern Door all but five years of her life. She started her interest in photography as a Gibraltar fifth grader with her twin lens Brownie camera. She and her late-husband worked his family’s orchards in Ellison Bay. Their son now lives in the Nashville area and their daughter Annah is a sophomore at Gibraltar High School. Several of Annah’s photos are in the exhibit as well.

Hass studied at Winona International School of Photography and with Door County photographer Bernard Hagedorn. She strives to produce a clean image with little or no Photoshop applications. Aside from minor changes in density, none of the images in the show have been altered or corrected.

Her work can be seen in Patterson’s A Portrait of Everyday Life in Wisconsin, on a cover of Lakeland Boating, in Great Lakes Distributions’ Door County calendars and postcards, and other publicity materials.

Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 – 3 pm and Sunday from 11 am – 12:30 pm.

The UU Gallery is located at 10341 Highway 42, just south of the Green Gables shops, in Ephraim. For more information visit uufdc.org.
