This Weekend in Door County: Open Door Pride and Uncork Summer

As summer starts to heat up in Door County so do its weekend activities. Check out all the fun happening in Door County this weekend.

Friday, June 22

New restaurants in Door County

Before the summer season starts to pick up, right now is a perfect time to try one of Door County’s new restaurants. Liberty Tap House in Egg Harbor boasts 20 on tap beers and a comfortable bar area. Taco Cerveza in Fish Creek is the newest establishment from the team behind Wickman House. They will serve tacos with homemade tortillas and locally sourced ingredients, beer, and wine on their open air patio.

Though not in their first season, Culinaria and Trixie’s are still worth a visit. Culinaria in Sister Bay has sandwiches that are made to order, pizza by the slice, and grab-and-go dinner entrees. Plus a full cooler full of frozen treats. Trixie’s is one of the newest additions in Ephraim. The menu this season features 52 wines along with food that is created in-house with locally sourced ingredients. Read more>>

Saturday, June 23

Uncork Summer

Another weekend, another festival filled with food and drinks. Enjoy small-plate, gourmet dishes from restaurants throughout Door County, as well as samplings from local markets, wineries, and distilleries at the Wickman House in Ellison Bay. Open Door Pride Festival

From 11 am-5 pm, the last day of the Open Door Pride Week will culminate in the Open Door Pride Festival, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community in Door County. Featuring live music and lots vendors, food, and beverages. Read more >

Fun outdoor activities

As the weather is supposed to be great this weekend, I recommend that you spend the day outside. Take a hike through beautiful Peninsula State Park or many of the other state parks that Door County has to offer. Maybe spend a few hours jet skiing on Green Bay. Or, Door County has many great mini-golf / putt-putt courses that are a lot of fun for all ages. On your way out of town, Egg Harbor Fun Park has one of my favorite mini golf courses along with zip-lines, go-karts, and a great arcade.

What’s playing this weekend?

The origin story of one of cinema’s greatest characters and the sequel to one of the best animated movies is at the drive-in. Entry gate opens 7:45 pm and closes about 10 minutes after the start of the second show. Double Feature – pay for one,  stay for both! Weather permitting. Read more>>
