VIDEO: Winter in Door County

A new video produced by Peninsula Filmworks for the Door County Visitor Bureau answers the question all residents get asked by tourists: “What do you do here in the winter?”

A lot more than you think, the video answers with interviews of locals who’ve come to love winter on the peninsula. Ice fishing, hiking, and snowmobiling are just some of the activities featured in the video.

“A lot of people assume that winters in Door County are empty, or that people here just hibernate,” said director Brett Kosmider. “We wanted to show that winter in Door County shouldn’t simply be survived, but celebrated.”

The video is the 11th in the Our Door County series commissioned by the Visitor Bureau to give a glimpse of life on the peninsula through the eyes of locals. Previous videos have focused on natural beauty, the farm-to-table movement, and silent sports, among others.

The entire series of videos, each between three and six minutes, can be viewed at OurDoorCounty.com.
