Washington Island Winter Carnival Lock-In

Washington Island School will host its first-ever Winter Carnival and Dance on Feb. 11. The semi-formal “Winter Wonderland” event is open to all Door County students.

Mainland students would take the 2:30 pm ferry and receive a pick up to the Rec Center, where free hair and make-up sessions for girls will be available, along with the opportunity to play pool, enjoy a free dinner, swim and then dance!

Don Mueller from Elite Music Service will offer his DJ services from 8 pm – 12 am. A fully chaperoned “Lock-In” at the Rec Center will follow. Attendees are welcome to swim all night, play Wii/Playstation, pool, ping-pong, board games, and more. Food and drinks will be provided as well. Mainland students will take the 8 am ferry.

The Washington Island School raised funds for this event through “Flamingo-A-Friend,” where school members received orders to place flocks of pink lawn flamingos on residents’ yards.
