Join the Women’s Fund of Door County on Feb. 2 & 3 for an evening of “Tales of Our Lives – A Story Slam: Empowerment Through Performance.” A story slam is more than just storytelling. These are not stories for children, but rather a glimpse into the storytellers’ lives that describes how they’ve been transformed into the people they have become. The stories range from funny to sad, from heartwarming to heart wrenching, but they are all authentic gifts from the storyteller as they share a piece of themselves with us. Tales of Our Lives is empowerment through performance and promises to be two nights to remember.
Enjoy a night of storytelling by Jackie Bricco, Honneli Godres, Isabeau Hitzman, melaniejane, Randy Marrow, Terry Lundahl, Amanda List, and Rachel Follingstad. The evening will also feature musical interludes by Dorothy Scott and Jess Holland.
Tales of Our Lives will be held at the Door County Fire Company in Sturgeon Bay. Social hour begins at 6 pm and story hour starts at 7 pm. Complimentary baked goods from local bakeries and Door County Coffee will be served; a cash bar will be available.
Advance tickets are $15. For tickets, visit WomensFundDoorCounty.org. Tickets at the door will be $20, as space is available. Both men and women are encouraged to attend
