Sing-along The Taming of the Shrew or That’s What You Get For Lovin’ Me – Woodwalk Gallery’s fifth annual fractured classic production – will be presented May 30 and 31, and June 1. All productions begin at 7 pm and will be followed by a mead libation reception.

Although William Shakespeare would hardly recognize his classic play, all the play’s characters are present, the setting is still 16th century England and the intrigue to marry off the not-so-lovely and extremely-hard-to-live-with Kate is the plot. However, all who attend the play become included in the play’s troop of traveling troubadours and have a say about Kate’s fate.

Leif and Jennifer Erickson, playing Kate and Petruchio, headline the cast. They are joined by the Lockwood Family Players. When the audience sings-along with the musical numbers, they will join Mark Moede as ‘the man in black’ in singing such classics as “Ring of Fire,” “O Lonesome Me,” “If I Were A Carpenter,” and “That’s What You Get For Lovin’ Me.” Words are provided. The production is only a little bawdy so children are invited.

Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by calling 920.868.2912. Woodwalk Gallery, open 10 am – 5 pm daily, is located at 6746 County Road G, just 2 miles north of Carlsville, a half-mile off of Highway 42 at Schartner’s Farm Market. For more information visit WoodwalkGallery.com.
