Door County Pickers Open Coffeehouse Concert Series

The first Coffeehouse Concert is scheduled for Jan. 9 with the Door County Pickers and an evening of down-home music from some of the peninsula’s favorite musicians.

The concert takes place at 7 pm in the Door Community Auditorium (DCA) Fireside Lobby. Guitarist Larry “Thor” Thoreson will emcee the evening, which will feature music on the guitar, mandolin, fiddle and banjo from Thoreson, Andy Coulson, Hana Rass, Ben Larsen, Terry Murphy and Pete Evans. Each among the best singers and instrumentalists in Door County, this assortment of pickers will present short sets of original and cover songs, creating an evening of music that is fun, relaxing, and toe-tapping.

Door County Pickers is sponsored by the Cordon Family Foundation; lodging is provided by Homestead Suites. Coffee and treats will be provided by Base Camp Coffee Shop.

Tickets for the concert are $15 ($10 for students), general admission. Advance reservations are recommended and can be made at the DCA box office, located on Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday through Friday, 12 – 5 pm. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at 920.868.2728, or online at dcauditorium.org.
