2018 Classic & Wooden Boat Festival

The Door County Classic & Wooden Boat Festival is set for Aug. 11 & 12. Now is the time to make plans to participate in the exciting events. Exhibit your boat, compete in the Sikaflex Challenge or volunteer your time to help celebrate Door County’s classic and wooden boats.

The Door County Classic & Wooden Boat Festival annually features a remarkable assortment of vessels competing for best in show. Registered boaters are invited to participate in a private bay-to-lake cruise and cocktail reception on the Friday before the festival, showcase their boat for the weekend and compete for awards and ribbons. Boats are displayed on trailers throughout the parking lot, along the waterfront and on the lawn. To exhibit a boat, register with Bill Freyman at [email protected].

The Sikaflex Challenge boat building competition returns this year. Construct a boat on Saturday, add decoration on Sunday morning and race for points on Sunday afternoon. Sikaflex Challenge building restrictions make for fun and exciting sea trials. The Sikaflex Challenge is limited to 12 two-person teams, so register early for a spot in the challenge. Registration is $20 and the form can be completed online or at the Door County Maritime Museum in Sturgeon Bay. For more information visit dcmm.org.
