Amos

Amos may only be famous in a small sphere, but he’s making that count! This 8-year-old Lhasa Apso came into the shelter as a surrender. He is used to one owner in a quiet setting, and would do very well with that same environment again. Amos startles easily so young children make him nervous. He’s okay with other dogs, but not so good around cats. Amos would just like to return to a settled, calm life with a new owner who wants a couch companion and a walking buddy.

“Such an awesome dog,” says our volunteer dog walker John, speaking about Orville. This 5-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound loves to be outside, and is beside himself with joy when John takes him up the driveway at DCHS to explore new fields. Orville arrived in mid-September as a stray from the Idlewild area of Nasewaupee. He’s all hound so a fenced yard and leash walks are necessary.
