Searching for your shadow? Bear wants the job, so please let him apply in person when you visit the shelter. This eight-year-old male Shih Tzu/Poodle mix will leave all the tennis ball chasing and outdoor romping to the Labs and Beagles. Bear just wants to be on the couch with you. He’s only seven pounds, but all of it is affection for “his person.” A recent surrender when his owner entered assisted living, Bear will be neutered this week. He’s a dog who appreciates a quieter home, and he’s just too small to be with young children. To “hire” Bear to be that petite cuddle-bug you’ve been missing, download an adoption application at the shelter website or visit during open hours.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD – the road to Potawatomi State Park), Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit dooranimals.com.
