A New Year Of First Fridays

On Jan. 5, celebrate another year of First Fridays at two Algoma galleries: Clay on Steele and Ladybug Glass Studio and Gallery.

From 4-7 pm at Clay on Steele, participants can write New Year’s messages on ceramic tiles, glaze them with brilliant colors and pick up their finished work the following Sunday (Jan. 7.) Guests can also peruse new ceramic sculptures on show at the gallery. 

Clay On Steele is located at 221 Steele St. in Algoma. 

From 5-8 pm at Ladybug Glass, participants can enjoy refreshments while they peruse new art by gallery co-owners, John and Kimberly Lyon. 

John Lyon’s new astrophotographs, printed on metal and paper, are especially detailed and colorful thanks to the use of filters and a new processing program. Kimberly Lyon’s newest works include sculptural glass pieces and kaleidoscopes. Both artists’ work will be on display throughout January.

Ladybug Glass is located at 219 Steele St. in Algoma.
