Great live music is an essential part of celebrating the coming of the New Year, whether it’s the crooning vocals of country singers, the folksy twang of folk bands, or the funky beats of pop and rock groups.
Door County has more than its fair share of great bands set to play Wednesday, Dec. 31 at a number of establishments. Whether you’re welcoming 2015 in the northern or southern part of the county, you’re sure to find a live band to dance your way into January.
Modern Day Drifters

Playing a variety of country, including classic, 90s, modern, country rock and oldies
Cold Hard Cash
Landmark Resort, 4929 Landmark Dr. in Egg Harbor, 9pm – 1am
Variety band performing anything from classic soul, R&B, funk and classic rock to blues, Latin, swing, reggae, jazz and rock-a-billy.
The Dead Pigeons
Door County Brewing Co., 2434 County Road F in Baileys Harbor, 7 – 9pm
Playing a two-hour show of bluegrass Americana to get your toes tapping before you head out to get your New Year’s Eve celebration on.
WIFEE and the HUZz BAND
Stone Harbor Resort, 107 N. First Ave. in Sturgeon Bay, 9pm – 1am
A 10-piece original band with full horn section and DJ pulling from influences of old soul, Motown, ‘50s and ‘60s rock and roll, R&B, and funk.
The Hunga Dunga Trio
Bayside Tavern, 4160 Main St. in Fish Creek, 10pm
Featuring Peninsula Pulse news writer Jackson Parr. A street performing band that specializes in arranging and performing popular songs, with influences by Creedence Clearwater Revival, James Brown, The Beatles, Jack Johnson, John Denver and The Romantics.
