ADRC of the Lakeshore Offers Dementia Education

The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of the Lakeshore’s dementia-care specialist will offer a free educational series about the resources available to those who are caring for loved ones with dementia.

The first part of the series, Dementia 101, will be offered in person on March 23, 1-2:30 pm. It will discuss the basics of dementia, including the differences between “normal aging cognitive decline” and more medically serious diseases that cause dementia.

Dementia 201 will be offered in person on April 13, 1-2:30 pm. The discussion will focus on the behavioral symptoms of dementia, the physiological changes in the brain, what progression with the disease might look like, and ways in which caregivers can positively intervene as they care for their loved ones.
