AFT Honors Fred Alley Legacy with “Spitfire Grill” Run

American Folklore Theatre is marking the 10th anniversary of the off-Broadway debut of The Spitfire Grill, Fred Alley’s award-winning play, with a two-week run at the Door Community Auditorium. It opens Sept. 30 with a gala, “The Limitless Legacy of Fred Alley, to benefit the Fred Alley New Musical Fund. The show is directed by James Valcq, Alley’s friend since boyhood and Spitfire’s composer and co-book writer.

The cast for the AFT production includes local actors Amy Ensign and Mark Moede, Joe Fransee from Milwaukee and four Equity actors from New York.

The show runs through Oct. 15 and includes 7:30 pm shows every night except Tuesdays and Sundays, with additional performances at 3 pm on Saturdays and 1:30 and 7 pm on Sundays.
