Algoma Sculptor to Judge International Competition

Algoma sculptor Bren Sibilsky is once again serving as a guest juror for Manhattan Arts International’s HerStory online exhibition. HerStory 2018 is an online exhibition of women artists that runs June 15 – Aug. 15 on ManhattanArts.com. It features the artwork of more than 50 women artists from around the world. Selected artworks from the exhibition will be included in a video and shared on social media and on the Manhattan Arts International YouTube channel.

The 2018 sculpture award will be chosen by Sibilsky, an award-winning sculptor, art instructor and founder of Algoma Atelier of Sculpture and Art.

Renée Phillips, exhibit organizer, said, “I am honored that Bren Sibilsky has agreed to join our prestigious awards committee for a second year. After winning several Manhattan Arts International awards over the years, in addition to her many career credentials, she is a perfect judge to select a woman artist in the sculpture category. Her discerning eye and meticulous attention to detail and technical ability are essential qualities for our judging criteria.”

Sibilsky said, “I am very honored to have this opportunity again this year to select an award for a woman sculptor in the HerStory 2018 exhibit. I believe this is the perfect time in history to celebrate the sculptural genius of women.”
