Amaryllis Adventure

Sister Bay part-time resident Roberta L. Raymond recently wrote and illustrated a children’s book, Amy and the Amaryllis. It is published by the Garden Club of Oak Park and River Forest (Ill.) and is available locally at the Paint Box Gallery, where Raymond also shows her watercolors.

The book tells the story of Amy as she attends an amaryllis sale with her mother and embarks on a bulb-growing adventure. The book is $20 and all profits go to local garden projects.

Raymond has previously illustrated menus for US Air, Door County restaurants, and has widely exhibited her paintings at the Hardy Gallery, Peninsula Art School, Sister Bay Library, North Shore Bank and elsewhere on the Peninsula. She is a member of the Door County Art League and Oak Park Art League. Her paintings are in collections throughout the U.S., Europe, and Canada.
