American Craft Week Comes to Door County

As part of American Craft Week, Ellison Bay Pottery (ellisonbaypotterystudios.com) will present Try It on Oct. 5, 12-3 pm: a chance to try throwing at the wheel with resident potter John Dietrich.

American Craft Week began as a small, grassroots effort to enhance the knowledge and appreciation of handmade American craft. Now it has become a well-established, national event in artists’ studios, galleries, museums, schools and festivals. The official celebration will be held Oct. 3-12, and for the first time, all 50 states will participate. American Craft Week has grown from 240 to more than 1,000 participating events.
