Amish Quilt Sale And Show

Jacksonport Cottage Gallery & Gifts is hosting its annual art, craft and Amish quilt sale July 6-9, 9 am – 5 pm, at Mr. G’s Fernwood Gardens, 5890 Hwy 57 south of Jacksonport.

The show features more than 100 Amish-made quilts – all of which are for sale – in a variety of styles, patterns and colors. The quilts are displayed on a bed, and show employees turn the quilts on a regular basis and give explanations of each one. Chairs will be set up in the gallery area for those who want to view the quilts.

Local artists who will demonstrate their work at the sale are Chris Steinhagen, handcrafted brooms; Ken Klitzman, pen and ink on stone; Sandra Peterson, pen and ink on embossed watercolor paper; June Grutza, glass painting; and Kathy Plahmer, baskets. There will also be tables of fabric, hand-poured candles, soaps, wooden bowls, doll clothes, hand-sewn items and more for sale.

The crowd-favorite Amish cashew crunch will be available while quantities last, along with Amish caramels and Yoder popcorn.

An entry fee of $1 will be charged at the door, and adults may sign up for door-prize drawings. Children 8 and younger are admitted free, but they must be attended by an adult at all times.
