ArtBeet, Inc. and The Flying Pig Partner for Articulture Project

The Flying Pig Gallery, in partnership with ArtBeet, Inc., is beginning the first year of a three-year effort to bring the arts, horticulture, and agriculture together for a season of activities and education.

Workshops include:

Making and Shaping Plants

Saturday, August 7, 1 – 3 pm

Maximum 20 students, class fee: $10

Frank Bowman will demonstrate simple techniques in coaxing plants into unlikely shapes and form. Discussions will include grafting and shaping of woody and soft tissue plants, designing standard forms and maximizing shape and color.

Winemaking for Gardeners

Rescheduled for Sunday, August 8, 1 – 3 pm

Maximum 30 students, class fee: $5

Frank Bowman will teach students techniques to make wine using ingredients commonly found in garden landscapes, using common tools.

ArtFlow 2

July – August, Fridays from 1 – 3 pm

Gallery artists, community groups, and seasonal visitors are invited to participate in creating a flow of fence pickets using wooden boards and house paint. This activity will include open studio time with art instructor Pat Bopray.
