Author to Sign Book About Major League Baseball

Jacob Kornheiser, the author of The Cup of Coffee Club: 11 Players and Their Brush with Baseball History, is doing a book reading and signing May 6, 1-2 pm, at Yardstick Books.

Reaching the major league is a pipe dream for most young baseball players in America. The Cup of Coffee Club tells the stories of 11 of these players, chronicling their struggle to reach the top, their one moment in the limelight and their struggle to return to it. They include a former Major League Baseball manager, the son of a Baseball Hall of Famer and two brothers of Hall of Famers. The featured players provide insight into what that single seminal moment meant to them and how they dealt with the blow of never again making another major league appearance.

Kornhauser grew up watching the Cubs at Wrigley Field every summer, and he’s now a sports writer who’s worked for ESPN and FOX Sports.
