Bader Funds Help Keep Door-Tran Rolling

Bader Philanthropies recently awarded Door-Tran $15,000 for both the 2022 and 2023 calendar years to help meet the increased transportation demands of its volunteer programs. This funding will help support office hours in Sister Bay monthly on the third Wednesday, 10 am – 12:30 pm, which began in fall 2021. 

Door-Tran implemented various transportation programs after the United Way of Door County needs assessment identified access to affordable transportation services as the most significant need in 2006. More than 56,000 trips have been provided to date using the half-price taxi voucher and volunteer driver programs, so volunteers are a huge part of these programs’ success in providing all Door County residents with affordable transportation services for travel within or outside the county.
