Baileys Harbor’s Blessing of the Fleet June 1

Blessing of the Fleet returns to Baileys Harbor June 1 for a full day of activities.

Blessing of the Fleet honors Baileys Harbor’s past and present fishing and maritime industries on June 1.

Personal boats may take part of the blessing ceremony at 11 am. Then participate in or be a spectator of the new Launch & Paddle Race at Harbor View Park, where the fearless competitors – doubles or individuals in a self-propelling vessel of choice (canoe, SUP or kayak) – will paddle to the marina pier. Lakeshore Adventures will provide kayaks as needed. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest and the best dressed.

Commercial and charter fishing boats will be docked at the marina until 3 pm for touring and meeting their captains. And don’t miss the food and drinks, arts and crafts fair, and live music by Dirty Deuce.

On Saturday night, dine on locally sourced whitefish at one of the restaurants participating in the lake-to-table culinary event: Top Deck at Gordon Lodge, Chives Restaurant, Harbor Fish Market & Grille, Baileys Harbor Cornerstone Pub, Thyme Cuisine, and Heirloom Cafe & Provisions.
