Bass Tournament Under Way

The 25th annual Spring Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament is being held in the waters off Sturgeon Bay this weekend. Limited to 200 two-men teams, 163 are registered for the quarter-century event. Ten dollars from each team per tournament is invested into a conservation fund to assist in community-based programs and to promote and improve the fishing habitat in Door County. The pavilion at Sawyer Park that serves as tournament headquarters was made possible in part by the Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament. The volunteer organization also holds a fall tournament.
