Board Going Green With LEDs

Washington Island’s school board has prioritized improved efficiency in lighting this year. The board plans to complete the installation of only LED lighting throughout the school.

The district received one bid as of Jan. 5 for the LED project and was seeking at least one more bid, said district Business Administrator Sue Cornell.

Earlier in the school year, the board discussed a major gymnasium project. On Jan. 11, the board’s building and grounds committee began work on a five-year strategic plan for the building and school property.
