Village Green Lodge Earns Travel Green Wisconsin Certification

Travel Green Wisconsin, a voluntary certification program that recognizes tourism businesses for reducing their environmental footprint through eco-friendly practices, has certified the Village Green Lodge.

To achieve certification, applicants must earn a minimum of 30 points from a checklist of requirements covering a wide range of “green” practices, including waste reduction, reuse and recycling and energy efficiency.

The Village Green Lodge received a total of 60 points. While recycling, reducing and reusing are common at this bed & breakfast inn, some of their eco-friendly customs include serving a full homemade breakfast with reusable dishware, featuring rooms that have operable windows, and offering their time and facility to community events.
