Boys Basketball: Pioneers Beaten by Blue Devils

Sevastopol’s boys basketball team is one loss away from another winless season in the Packerland Conference after losing at home Monday to Oconto, 90-63.

Oliver Mathews led the Pioneers with 21 points, which included six threes. Chase Haberli added 13 points with three threes, while Logan Schuh scored 11 more.

Carter Koch led three Blue Devils in double figures with a game-high 49 points.

Sevastopol, which dropped to 0-15 in the conference and 3-20 overall, closes out the regular season Thursday with a league game at Peshtigo. Should the Pioneers lose to the Bulldogs, it will mark the fourth season in a row Sevastopol will have compiled an 0-16 league record. 

The Pioneers, who have lost 63 conference games in a row, last won in Packerland action Feb. 28, 2020, in the regular-season finale against Algoma, 75-54.
