BREAKING NEWS

Gibraltar Secondary School Principal Kirk Knutson resigned from his position on Monday, Nov. 24, according to Gibraltar School District Superintendent Tina Van Meer.

“I can confirm he did resign yesterday,” Van Meer said Tuesday. “He has chosen to move forward with other career opportunities.”

She said the district will not fill the position this year, but will post it this spring.

“Right now, obviously, we’re in the middle of the school year so our No. 1 priority is making sure that we have his duties supported by other administrators in our district. As an administrative team, we are working on a plan on how we will support our secondary school, as well as our teachers and our students. We hope to be having a letter out to our families as soon as possible. We want to make sure we have a plan in place and then communicate that plan to our families. We have been thinking through this, and obviously, our No. 1 priority is our students, staff and families.”
