Bringing Together Words and Images

The mission of the Meadows Art Gallery is to feature work created by the Door County art community. The next exhibit, Masks: Written Art, does just that; it combines dimensions and directions of artwork not normally exhibited as one show. The opening reception will be April 18, 2 – 4 pm. The poets included in the exhibit will also host a tea and reading on May 6 at 2 pm. The public is invited to both events.

Masks: Written Art will interpret what the word “masks” means to artists. Work in this show will be traditional two-dimensional pieces of visual art and written poetry. There may be a few artistic surprises such as electronic and three-dimensional constructions. The following Door County poetry groups will contribute different forms of poetry: Word Women, Wallace Poetry Group, Belle Lettres and Unabridged.

The work of Loraine and Don Brink will also be exhibited at this time. These artists have explored all art forms and media that were available to them in their lives, and will display work from various media.

This exhibit will be on display through June. The Meadows Art Gallery is located at Scandia Village in Sister Bay. For more information call 920.854.2317.
