Broomball Playoff Seedings Set for Hilander Cup Tournament Sunday

Johnson’s Park completed an undefeated regular season to earn the top seed in the Sunday, Feb. 11 Hilander Cup Tournament at the Sister Bay Sports Complex. Johnson’s Park topped Horseshoe Bay 10 – 1 Feb. 7 to complete a dominant season.

In a bit of an upset, nobody was hurt in the early game despite the presence of Tyler Hanusa and Paula Anschutz on the ice. Door County Brewing claimed a hard-fought 5 – 2 victory. The two teams played double-headers Wednesday, and each ran out of steam in game two. The Painters took a 3-1 lead at half over the Brewers, but in the second half the speed of Ben Fitzgerald and handsomeness of Brian Fitzgerald were too much for the upstart squad to overcome.

In the nightcap, Alexander’s crushed e-Tailer, Inc. 8 – 1 to claim the number 2 seed and a first round bye in the Hilander Cup Tournament.
