Cappaert Commissioned to Create Hardy Gallery’s Raffle Piece

For the Hardy Gallery’s 2019 fundraising raffle, Ginnie Cappaert – a full-time visual artist with a studio and gallery in Egg Harbor – has been commissioned to create a painting focused on the Anderson Warehouse.

Cappaert explores landscape imagery and its deep space in her paintings by building 30 to 40 layers of oil paints, cold wax and other media. Her process of applying textured layers of oil paint, scraping the paint, dissolving areas and then rebuilding them creates an interesting surface with metallics, texture and depth.

“Summer Breezes” is on view at the Hardy Gallery until Oct. 13. Raffle tickets – one for $5, or five for $20 – can be purchased at the gallery or by calling 920.854.2210. The raffle winner will be announced on Oct. 14.
