Carey Petersilka Earns Register of Deeds Award

The Wisconsin Register of Deeds Association (WRDA) at their recent conference in LaCrosse presented Carey Petersilka with the distinguished President’s Award. This award is presented to one person annually, and is given for her outstanding contributions to the association. Petersilka has given countless hours planning, organizing and traveling, for the benefit of the constituents she serves.

“I am incredibly honored and humbled to be selected as this year’s recipient of this prestigious award. Serving on the WRDA board has given me another way to advocate for Door County residents on a statewide level,” said Petersilka.

The WRDA is a 72-member organization. Since becoming the Door County Register of Deeds in 2005, Petersilka has served the WRDA in some capacity on the board. She currently is serving as the Past President of the association as well as on the Legislative, Advisory and Conference & Program committees.

During her tenure, Petersilka has led the way to advance several pieces of legislation that later became state law. She also is a member of the Wisconsin County Constitutional Officers Association, Wisconsin Counties Association and Wisconsin Land Information Association.
