Celebrate Aldo Leopold Day at Crossroads

Start your weekend with a campfire March 3, 5-7 pm, at Crossroads at Big Creek. Monthly on the first Friday, Crossroads stokes the Council Ring campfire and invites the public to gather for some community cheer. Feel free to take a beverage or even food to cook. Marshmallows and roasting sticks are provided.

Then join the Friends of Crossroads on March 4, 1:30-3:30 pm, to celebrate Aldo Leopold Day with a hike. During the hike, hear what this renowned Wisconsin environmentalist had to say about water, and afterward, warm up in the Collins Learning Center with hot apple cider by the fireplace. Meet at the trailhead by the Collins Learning Center.

Science Saturday will also meet March 4, 1-4 pm, when the topic will be nature journaling in honor of Leopold. Meet in the lab of the Collins Learning Center.

Visit crossroadsatbigcreek.org for more information about these programs and others, and for updates on the trail conditions for the Ski for Free program at Crossroads at Big Creek, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay.
