Climate Change Workshop for Educators

The Climate Change Coalition of Door County, the Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership, the American Chemical Society Climate Science Outreach Team (Illinois Heartland) and the American Meteorological Association Atmospheric Education are sponsors of a Climate Change Workshop at Crossroads at Big Creek on Sept. 27, 8:30 am – 3:15 pm. Teachers, naturalists and environmentalists attending this workshop will learn about climate science with demos illustrating related chemical and meteorological processes. Instructors will focus on two aspects of climate science – meteorology and phenology, as well as hands-on laboratory experiences and introductions to relevant literature. The fee is only $12. Also at Crossroads, on Sept. 28 the Friends of Crossroads will have a fire going at the Council Ring at 5 pm. Bring family and friends, and fixings for a picnic supper, to enjoy the fire. From the Learning Center parking lot, follow the Planet Walk to the Council Ring.

The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan in Sturgeon Bay, is open 2 – 4:30 pm daily and during scheduled events.
