Clippers Math Team Takes Second At State Meet

The Sturgeon Bay High School math team took second in the Class B state math meet. Submitted.

The Sturgeon Bay High School math team placed second at the 2024 State Math meet for Class B, held at individual schools last month.

The team consisted of seniors Gavin Forest, Amelia Langfeldt, Ben Stephens, and Jade Tomberlin and juniors Jack Konop, Julia Michalski, Luke Selle, and Tre Wienke. They finished 11 points behind Edgewood High School, the state champs.

Luke Selle, Jack Konop, and Tre Wienke finished first team all-state, while Ben Stephens, Julia Michalski and Amelia Langfeldt were second team all-state. 

“Congratulations to James Zittlow, from Southern Door High School, who also finished first team all-state for Class C,” said Cliff Wind, Sturgeon Bay math instructor.
