CNC Mobile Lab Coming to County

• A new Computer Integrated Manufacturing Mobile Lab will be unveiled Monday, Sept. 12 at 11 am in the parking lot of Sturgeon Bay High School.

The mobile lab will provide high-tech manufacturing learning opportunities for area students. The 44-foot-long mobile technology laboratory is packed with computer numeric control (CNC) technology, including a Haas CNC mill and a Haas CNC lathe; 13 computers; and SMART Board (an interactive whiteboard) technology.

Door County manufacturers have called for more local CNC training opportunities in recent years.

• The Village of Egg Harbor will hold a public hearing on a sanitary sewer rate increase Sept. 12 at 6 pm. The hearing will be held at the Bertschinger Community Center.

• The Sevastopol Historical Society will present a video presentation of the Bassford Family History Monday, Sept. 12 at 7 pm at the Sevastopol Town Hall. In 1859 residents met at the Bassford home to form the Town of Sevastopol, and George Bassford later became Sevastopol’s first postmaster in 1874.
