Comstock Donates To American Cancer Society

Portrait of Jenny by Jan Comstock

Door County artist Jan Comstock donated an oil portrait to the highest bidder at the American Cancer Society’s “Birthday Bash” fundraiser. The oil on linen portrait can be of the bidder themselves or a loved one of their choice. The benefit event took place in Appleton on September 17.

“I was thrilled to be asked to be part of their live auction in supporting a cause very dear to my heart,” stated Comstock. A sample portrait of Comstock’s, a young woman named Jenny, was on display during the evening. “This portrait of Jenny has special meaning for this benefit,” said Comstock, “since we are both cancer survivors.”

The funds raised that evening will help make a difference in northeast Wisconsin. According to the American Cancer Society three people in Wisconsin will be diagnosed with cancer every hour of every day this year.

Artwork by Comstock can be seen at Erinnwood Studios/Gallery located at 7456 Highway 57, two miles south of Baileys Harbor or by visiting http://www.erinnwood.com.
