Concert on the Water in Sturgeon Bay

Door County is surrounded by water and a robust music scene. It just makes sense to combine the two with a concert on the water.

That’s happening Aug. 19, 12-2 pm. Kayakers, canoeists and paddleboard enthusiasts are invited to take to the waters of Sturgeon Bay for a floating concert by the popular reggae band Unity, which will perform live from a pontoon boat as participants paddle along.

The event starts at the Otumba Park beach and launch area, 212 W. Locust Court in Sturgeon Bay, and it will take paddlers along the Sturgeon Bay shore, past Dunlap Reef and up to Bullhead Point. Volunteers will be on hand to help with craft unloading and parking beginning at 11 am.

The event is weather dependent. In case of cancellation, ticket holders may request a pass to attend the event at no cost next year. Food and beverages will not be provided, but participants are encouraged to take their own. All trash is “pack in and pack out,” and non-single-use plastic is encouraged. Advance registration is required because space is limited. Tickets are $30 for those who supply their own watercraft (motors are not allowed), and tickets are available at DoorCountyKayakConcert.eventbrite.com.
