Construction of state Highway 42 began this week, April 8, with resurfacing on tap from just north of the Hwy 57/42 split in Sevastopol and continuing 12.1 miles on Hwy 42 to Rainbow Ridge Court in the Town of Egg Harbor.
Improvements include milling and resurfacing; replacing various culvert pipes; adding right turn lanes at the Monument Point Road intersection; the installation of centerline and shoulder rumble strips; the addition of gravel to existing shoulders; and pavement marking.
Hwy 42 will remain open to local traffic accessing businesses or residential properties. All other traffic will be detoured following Hwy 57, to County Roads V, A and EE.
Flagging operations for the local traffic will be used on Hwy 42 and local traffic must pay attention to the traffic control flagging/signage and drive slowly and carefully through the construction project limits.
