Corner of the Past Farmer’s Market to Begin Ninth Season

The Sister Bay Historical Society is looking forward to welcoming vendors and patrons when the Farmer’s Market opens on Saturday June 26 at the Corner of the Past, Highway 57 at Fieldcrest Road and Country Lane just 1 ½ miles south of downtown Sister Bay. Patrons can shop for locally-grown fresh produce from 8 am – noon on all Saturdays beginning June 26 and continuing through Saturday October 9, rain or shine.

The vendors at the Corner of the Past Farmer’s Market sell only produce grown in Door County. In addition to fruits and vegetables, herbs, fresh-cut flowers, plants, native Door County plants, organic beef, canned Door County products, artisan breads, and bakery items produced in Door County licensed kitchens are also available. When available, local fresh-caught fish will also be at the market. Crafts and other hand-made items will not be sold.

While shopping and visiting with friends, patrons can also see a special free Heritage Program in the large barn or on the grounds of the market each Saturday. Local artists will be demonstrating their skills in glass fusing, hex sign painting, needle felting, chair caning, spinning, and many other skills between 9 – 11 am. Plenty of parking is available on the north side of the market grounds.

The Old Anderson House Museum will also be open for visitors from 9 am – 2 pm in addition to all the restored historic buildings with many outstanding exhibits of photos and artifacts from the Sister Bay area.

There is still space available for new vendors. Call Roberta Kutlik at 920.854.9242 or Ron Kane at 920.854.2750.
