Create Public Art at Woodwalk

Jodi Brey is Woodwalk Gallery’s resident artist and will facilitate the FUNshops.

The public is invited to participate in the creation of story and public art through a three-week event series called “The Legend Agenda.” Beginning July 14 and culminating Aug. 5, the project’s “FUNshops” will be facilitated by Woodwalk Gallery’s resident artist Jodi Brey.

While the basic formula for each FUN/workshop will be the same, the focus will change as the ‘Legend’ unfolds. The culminating story/artwork will be unveiled at an opening reception on Aug. 5.

FUNshops begin with “Launcheon” on July 14 from 10 am –1 pm. This FUNshop features a food-and-written-word focus with a panel discussion and savory delights around a woodland table setting/installation. This event also features Sheryl Ridenour, Chicago poet, as guest facilitator with participation by painters Ed Fenendael and Marjorie Mau.

Subsequent workshops will be presented in two-hour segments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Activities will focus on creativity and interaction with nature through light hikes, journaling, drawing games, and the creation of environmental sculpture.

Events are open to adults and youth, but a specific youth-camp series will be held during the week of July 23. Activities will offer both take-home and collaborative/public art projects.

Brey is a jewelry artist, environmental sculptor and expressive arts therapist whose work focuses on the creation of personal and community narratives as expressed through visual art.

Pre-registration for FUNshops is appreciated. Families and special groups can be accommodated. For more information or to register, visit http://www.thelegendagenda.com or call 920.868.2912.
