Crossroads Highlights Birds and Space

Crossroads at Big Creek will host the Wild Ones lecture “How to Attract, Feed and House Birds” on Nov. 14, 7 pm. Charlotte Lukes will discuss many of northeast Wisconsin’s native birds and the wildflowers, shrubs and trees they prefer. She will also show bird-nest boxes, platforms, feeders and water baths. Refreshments will be available at the intermission.

The Friday Film on Nov. 15, 3 pm, will be Cosmic Collisions. This production – created by the American Museum of Natural History and NASA, and narrated by Robert Redford – explains the many collisions that have resulted in the solar system.

Families are encouraged to attend Sun on Sunday on Nov. 17, 2 pm, at the Collins Learning Center. As part of Crossroads’ astronomy outreach program, it will include the stunning video 3-D Sun, activities and ice cream sundae cones.

The Collins Learning Center, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay, is open weekdays, 10 am – 4 pm; weekends, 1-4 pm; and during scheduled activities. Crossroads’ trails are free and open to the public.
