DCAL Hosts “Small Works of Art” at Sister Bay Village Hall

“Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, close-up,” drawing panel by JoAnne Rosenfeld.

The Door County Art League will present “Small Works of Art,” at the Sister Bay Village Hall, Friday, October 1 from 2 – 6 pm; Saturday, October 2 from 10 am – 6 pm; and Sunday, October 3 from 10 am – 3 pm. All artwork will be for sale. No piece will exceed 9 by 12 inches.

The Gallery of the Door County Art League featured artists for the week of October 3 are Dianne Saron, who works in pastels, and JoAnne Rosenfeld, who paints in a variety of media.

Rosenfeld, a self-taught artist, works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, charcoal, pencil, and pen and ink. “Often, I’ll do the same painting in two or three mediums,” she said, “but there is always one that stands out as better than the others.”

Rosenfeld also finger-paints and uses the “Drawing Panel” application on her cell phone. Both unique methods are on display at the gallery.

Saron’s and Rosenfeld’s artwork is also on display at the League’s 24th Annual Juried Exhibit currently at the Link Gallery, located in the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek.

The Gallery of the DCAL is located at the Top of the Hill Shops, Highway 42 and County F on Spring Road in Fish Creek. Business hours are 10 am – 5 pm daily, until the end of the season: Monday, October 11.
