DCMM Participates in Council of American Maritime Museums Conference

The annual conference of the Council of American Maritime Museums – of which the Door County Maritime Museum (DCMM) is a member – will be held April 24-27 at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc.

Kevin Osgood, DCMM’s executive director; and Sam Perlman, its deputy director and development manager, will discuss the museum’s ambitious Maritime Lighthouse Tower expansion project at the conference on April 25. On April 26, Rhys Kuzdas, DCMM’s curator and exhibits manager, will give a presentation about the 1946 sinking of Leathem Smith’s yacht, the Half-Moon, off the Door County coast.

On April 27, conference participants can take a bus tour from Manitowoc to Sturgeon Bay for a tour of the DCMM, a lunch presentation by the creative team behind Northern Sky Theater’s musical Windjammers, and a driving tour past Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding.
