DCU Girls Swimmers Win Dual Meet at Plymouth

The Door County United girls swim team won another road dual meet Thursday, when DCU defeated Plymouth High School, 122-52, scoring points in all the varsity events.

“Overall, the team’s hard work is paying off with success against teams of all sizes,” said DCU head coach Kelly Oram-Rankin.

DCU’s top varsity scorers included Christy Braun of Sturgeon Bay and Cassie Rankin of Sevastopol, who both placed first in their individual events.

Brooke Strege of Southern Door finished in the top three for all of her individual events, which helped DCU score an additional eight points.

Isabella Jimenez Seyfer of Sturgeon Bay added top-five finishes in all of her varsity events, which included a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, where she beat Plymouth’s fourth-place finisher by .03 seconds.

DCU’s junior varsity swimmers also won against Plymouth, 74-43.

DCU will travel to Wittenberg-Birnamwood on Tuesday for its next conference dual meet.
