Destroyers Destroy Bulldogs

The Door County Destroyers lived up to the name on Sept. 21 in a game played in Monona by destroying the Tri-City Bulldogs 47-6 and setting a new team record for most points scored in a game.

The win gives the Destroyers a 5-3 record in the Wisconsin State Football League. The Bulldogs are now 1-7.

Kicker Cory Bougie set a personal record with two field goals for six extra points. Quarterback Nathan Smithson was 9 for 15 for 224 yards and four touchdowns. Running Back Ben Campbell rushed 16 times for 97 yards and one TD. Wide Receiver Andre Wilson had four receptions for 111 yards and three TDs.

On defense, Chris LeCloux had six tackles, two for loss and one forced fumble. Bryan Beachler also had six tackles, three for loss and one sack. Chris Richardson had one tackle, two pass deflections and one interception.

The Destroyers play host to the Outagamie County Outlaws (3-5) at 2 pm on Saturday, Sept. 28, at Baileys Harbor Rec Park.
