Marilyn Taylor will be the featured poet at the Sept. 11, 7 pm, Dickinson Poetry Series event held at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 10341 Water St. (Hwy 42) in north Ephraim.
Taylor, a former Wisconsin poet laureate, is the author of six poetry collections, and her work has appeared in Poetry, Able Muse and Measure and Light, among many other journals and anthologies. She was recently awarded the Margaret Reid Poetry Prize for verse in forms and was a finalist for the X.J. Kennedy Parody Contest, the Howard Nemerov Sonnet Award and the 2017 Lascaux Review prize.
Monthly on the second Wednesday, the Dickinson Poetry Series features a renowned local or regional poet, followed by an open mic that gives others the chance to read their poetry, followed by a reception during which attendees can meet the poets.
