Dine and Learn Motel History

Door County Historical Society found an ideal local speaker to delve deeply into a phenomenon of the 20th century. For the March 23 luncheon at Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club, melaniejane from the Holiday Music Motel has assembled a thorough history of a roadside phenomenon of the 20th century when she presents “The Rise (and Fall) of Motels in America,” and discusses the revival of her two-story motel in downtown Sturgeon Bay.

Door County Historical Society supporters can dine March 23 and learn about the 20th-century rise of motels, such as the Holiday. Submitted.

Lunch includes either cherry barbeque meatloaf, chicken velouté or vegetarian apple gorgonzola salad. Doors open at 11:30 am.

Register at least a week in advance at doorcountyhistoricalsociety.org or call 920.421.233.

The Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club is located at 600 Nautical Dr. in Sturgeon Bay.
