Door County Art News: White Sale Helps Build Houses

Door County Habitat for Humanity has a goal of raising $275,000 next year to once again achieve their goal of building three houses per year in Door County.

“At Gallery 42 we’ve made a practice of giving 10 percent of all original art sales to a charitable cause. During our ‘very colorful white sale’ running through this December 21 we’ll double that,” explained Gallery owner Tim Nyberg. “Twenty percent of all original art sales will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. In addition, we’ll be discounting all original art 20 percent to encourage art purchases during these difficult economic times.”

Nyberg encourages other businesses to join the “Business Helping Habitat” program as well. There is more information about the program at DoorHabitat.com.

Gallery 42’s winter sale event will take place at Gallery 42 (Highway 42 at Juddville Road between Egg Harbor and Fish Creek) Saturdays and Sundays through December 21 from noon – 5 pm. The same discount and Habitat donation will apply to purchases made online at http://www.galleryfortytwo.com (but you’ll have to provide your own wine and hot cider when shopping online).
