Door County Art Scene: Rock and Roll Poster Art Show at Kick Coffee

Rock and Roll poster art by local artist Adam Mackintosh will be featured the month of December at Kick Coffee on 3rd Avenue in Sturgeon Bay. There will be an opening reception on Sat., Dec. 6 from 4 – 6 pm.

“Poster art has always attracted me throughout my life as a musician,” says Mackintosh. “I know how important it is to have your band represented in a beautiful way to people who see the posters for your performances. There is so much language in fonts and imagery that can convey to a person what kind of music or vibe to expect from a concert.”

Mackintosh also finds it to be a healthy exercise to find the musical style of a band touring through Door County and creating something that expresses that to local residents. Examples of this would be the work he has done for Cherry Lanes and The Hitching Post.

“With this show,” Mackintosh continues, “I want to feature all of the great talent coming through Door County by presenting some of the posters I have created for the venues.”

After the opening reception on Dec. 6, Adam Mackintosh and The Last Dancers will play an after show party at Beach Harbor.
